Emily is one of the 2 engines of the Fire & Rescue engines on the Island of Sodor.
Biography[]
Emily arrived to save the NWR in June 1924 after 98462 blew up at Vicarstown Station and she lives at the Sodor Search and Rescue Centre at Suddery.
Emily was one of the engines that helped evacuate people in the war, along with Mickey, Gordon, James, Wendell, Oliver and Duck.
In 1952, Emily has now worked on The Main Line, but left in the summer of 1957 to work on the Region.
Personality[]
Emily is a kind, compassionate engine, and is always sensitive to others' feelings. If she wrongs someone, knowingly or not, she is quick to apologize. She takes her job of Fire and Rescue seriously, and always follows the rules and even gives advice to other engines.

Basis[]
Emily is based on a Great Northern Railway G3 Stirling Single 4-2-2. Designed by Patrick Stirling in 1870 with 8ft 1in driving wheels and outside cylinders, they were specifically built for high speed expresses between London and York.
Livery[]
Emily is painted emerald green with yellow lining and brass fittings. She has chocolate coloured running-boards and her buffers were originally bronze, but have since turned silver.
